Modeled 1937 by Arthur Moeller, this figurine is named either 'Primer Girl' or 'Little Scholar' in old Goebel factory records. Her bright orange skirt makes a striking off-set to the multi-colored flowers in the Flower Market landscape, which includes a cat. Of the many variations of this piece, the one seen here is the only figurine with a filled basket on her arm.
